Creating Dreamer land was an exhilarating step into the world of color and spontaneous expression, embracing the alla prima technique with renewed enthusiasm. This approach—painting wet-on-wet with oils in a single session—allowed me to explore bold, looser brushstrokes and surrender to the process without the constraints of perfect realism. The thrill of this technique, blending hues in the moment, brought a vibrant energy to the canvas.
With these pieces, I aimed to capture two faces simultaneously, a fresh challenge that pushed me into uncharted territory. Pulling inspiration from a variety of sources. — characters with a unique presence, imagined and created in real time. It was a liberating shift, letting go of detailed control to focus on the fluid dynamics of form, shadow, and color.
Each stroke contributed to a meditative rhythm, mirroring the essence of dreaming itself. This inaugural venture into such expressive techniques offered me a deeper connection to the art form, one I hope speaks to viewers and invites them to drift into their own daydreams, experiencing the same rush of unfiltered creation.
Painting both, dreamer and day dreamer at the same time, in one sit was a huge challenge and I loved every brushstroke.
