Little Wave

With the gracious consent of Shaun Smith, also known as Smitherspix from California, I embarked on translating his captivating photo into a 90 x 90 cm oil painting. It’s fascinating to note that in Shaun’s original photograph, the wave, which appears so majestic in the painting, was a mere 5 cm high when he captured this breathtaking scene. This transformation speaks to the power of art to amplify and immortalize the beauty found in even the smallest moments of nature’s grandeur.
